Start with the room

OLED controls every pixel individually, so black levels and shadow detail look exceptional in a dim room. Mini-LED televisions can get substantially brighter, which helps fight reflections in sunny living rooms. A large discount on the wrong panel for your room is not a useful deal.

Compare the complete package

Check the number of HDMI 2.1 ports, refresh-rate support, gaming features, stand width, and operating system. Entry models sometimes use the premium panel name while cutting connectivity or processing. Those compromises matter for consoles, soundbars, and lower-resolution cable content.

Know a meaningful sale

Compare the current price with recent street prices, not only the manufacturer list price. The strongest TV value often appears when the previous model year is cleared out. A modest discount on a proven outgoing model can beat a larger discount on a weaker new model.
